I believe that the most effective learning happens through authentic and meaningful classroom activities. My students and I enjoy using games, film clips, audio, and other multi-media materials to simultaneously strengthen speaking,
reading, writing, and listening skills. I encourage learners to engage their prior-knowledge and lived experiences in every exercise, especially when it comes to learning English grammar. I consistently survey my students to discover
their individual learning styles, multiple intelligences, and interests so that I can incorporate these factors into every class session. I also provide students with instant feedback so that we can work together to clarify English
language concepts and build mutual understandings. My ultimate goal is to create a bridge between the classroom environment and real world contexts for second language learners. I see the English language as an important tool that
people can use to build and strengthen communities.
