ABC - Pre-Beginning IEP
This class enables students to acquire the skills necessary to recognize the alphabet and its accompanying sounds. Students develop survial communication in English, obtain fundamental knowledge of English and gain comprehensible pronunciation skills.
After completing this class, students should be able to:
- Introduce themselves
- Fill out simple forms
- Discuss weather, food, clothing, occupations, one's appearance
- Tell the time
- Identify relationships
- Enroll in the RCE Beginning IEP - Level 1
LEVEL 1 - BEGINNING IEP
This level includes introduction to basic grammar, vocabulary development, dictionary use and pronunciation of the phonetic alphabet. It emphasizes American English pronunciation skills.
After completing this class, students should be able to:
- Participate in daily conversation for everyday life in the U.S
- Understand and produce simple tense sentences
- Write a 3-4 sentence paragraph on various topics
- Understand more vocabularies
- Know how to use a dictionary
- Enroll in the RCE INTERMEDIATE IEP - Level 2
