What is NCLEX-RN?

NCLEX-RN stands for “National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses”. NCLEX exam is designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities of entry-level nurses. Foreign educated nurses who possess nursing licenses in their own countries are eligible to take the NCLEX exam. The shortage of nurses in the U.S. is a serious problem, and many hospitals are willing to hire foreign educated nurses who have passed this exam.

Before you take the exam, you have to submit all the required documents to the State Board of Nursing to get approval. Once you get approval, you can schedule a test date and take the exam. The approval process by the State Board takes up to 6 months. After successfully passing the test, you have to submit the proof of English language proficiency for the visa screening.
